Atiku’s melodramatic claims of being “stripped naked” and “forced to make videos under duress” are nothing but theatrical performance that can not fly or garner undeserved public sympathy
The City Boy Movement, a youth-led advocacy organization for good governance and sociopolitical reform, has denied allegations that its Grand Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, mobilized goons to disrupt the purported inauguration of unauthorized NANS executives led by Isa Atiku Abubakar.
IREPORT247NEW reported that the alleged thugs associated with Seyi Tinubu—the son of President Bola Tinubu—violently interrupted the NANS inauguration event that took place on Tuesday in Abuja, according to Comrade Atiku.
Several attendees were injured and many others had their phones and personal possessions stolen when the assailants attacked the site, the Wells Carlton Hotel in Asokoro. The assailants were equipped with cutlasses and firearms according to Atiku.
Atiku said, “Before the day of the inauguration, Seyi had asked the Senior Special Assistant on Students and Youth Affairs to lure me into silence with money. I was told he was ready to offer me a hundred million naira. My refusal to accept the bribe led to the attack yesterday.
“When Seyi’s thugs, led by one Ladoja, came in with machetes and guns, they beat people and injured many. Nigerians should beg Seyi to spare my life.”
The allegations were characterized as unsubstantiated and intended to tarnish the character of Seyi Tinubu in a statement issued by its Director General, Hon. Francis Tosin Shoga.
“The allegations are desperate attempts at character assassination without a shred of evidence.
“Atiku’s melodramatic claims of being “stripped naked” and “forced to make videos under duress” are nothing but theatrical performance that can not fly or garner undeserved public sympathy. This is the 21st century.
“Barr. Seyi Tinubu’s calm demeanour and principled approach to youth engagement are well-established. His commitment has always revolved around constructive dialogue, youth empowerment, and impactful development programs, and not interference in organizational affairs.
“However, we want those orchestrating this smear campaign, including Atiku and his cohorts, to be prepared to face legal consequences for their defamatory actions. The City Boy Movement will not stand idly by while opportunists attempt to use Barr. Seyi’s name for cheap publicity.”
