Kwankwaso’s return would offer no tangible value to the APC, either directly or indirectly, given his declining influence

Kano State can be delivered to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in 2027 without Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, according to a youth group that operates under the auspices of the APC Youth and Students Council (KASASCO).
This follows after Hashimu Dungurawa, the Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), asserted that neither the 2023 Presidential Candidate, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, nor others want to switch to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Dungurawa made this statement in response to rumors regarding Kwankwaso’s potential defection to the APC.
Dungurawa said, “Definitely, we (NNPP) don’t have that interest, intention and we see them (APC party) as enemy of democracy. Look at where they led us to today in the country.
“They don’t know people are looking for situation to teach them a lesson, meaning the day of election. Everyday, there vote is diminishing. In 2015, they had almost 20 million votes. In 2019, they score 16 million votes while in 2023, it was 8 million votes.”
In response, KASASCO has expressed their opposition to any attempt to bring Senator Kwankwaso back into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the Council, Kwankwaso’s political importance has substantially decreased, particularly in light of the fact that the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano is experiencing enormous defections.
This statement was made through the Council’s Director General, Comrade Yahaya Usman Kabo.
Kano said, “Kwankwaso’s return would offer no tangible value to the APC, either directly or indirectly, given his declining influence.
“Under the leadership of Hon. Abdullahi Abbas, the APC in Kano, currently holds a strong position, with two sitting senators, several members of the House of Representatives, and State Assembly members.
He said the NNPP is losing prominent politicians, many of whom helped it in the 2023 general election.
“These individuals left due to unjust and imbalanced treatment despite their sacrifices for the Kwankwasiyya movement.
“Kwankwaso’s political relevance has ended. He now seeks political refuge by any means possible, recognizing that only the APC has the strength to provide cover. But, the APC is not a refuge organization and is not seeking individuals who could disrupt its progress and unity.”
KASASCO lauded Senator Barau Jibrin for his political initiatives, which resulted in 80% of the Kwankwasiyya movement defecting to the APC, and expressed gratitude to APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his leadership.
