Presidential Approval for the Engagement of a Private Facility Manager for the State House Medical Centre

It has been revealed that President Bola Tinubu intends to hand over the management of the State House Medical Centre to a private facility manager, according to a document that SaharaReporters has obtained.

The letter that was written on the letterhead of the Ministry of Education and signed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, was the one that announced the beginning of the process of contracting for the State House Clinic.

The March 25, 2025 letter to the Permanent Secretary of the State House in the Presidential Villa, Temitope Peter Fashedemi, described the inauguration of a commission to monitor the facility’s handover to “private managers.

“President Tinubu approved contracting the State House Medical Centre to private facility operators, according to the letter.

The inauguration of the group was scheduled for April 29.

The letter, signed by Tunji Alausa and referenced HME/FME/CORR.GEN.VOL 2/223, stated, “Further to the assignment given to me by Mr. President to assess and determine the optimal operational model for the State House Medical Centre, I am pleased to convey His Excellency’s approval to commence the contracting process for engaging a private facility manager to oversee its management.

“In line with this directive, a Technical Working Group (TWG) has been constituted to implement this process. Given the strategic importance of this initiative, I kindly request that you nominate a representative from your office to participate in the TWG’s deliberations and ensure seamless coordination with the State House administration.

The Inauguration of the TWG has been slated as follows:

Date: Tuesday 29th April, 2025

Time: 2.00pm

Venue: Minister’s Conference Room, Federal Secretariat. Abuja, Federal Ministry of Education.
