We salute the professionalism with which the DSS has been handling the delicate security challenges in Plateau, Benue, and several other states

The Department of State Services (DSS) has been praised by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) for the professional manner in which it has handled the security situation in some states, including Plateau, Benue, and others.

In a statement that was issued on Friday in Abuja, the National President of MACBAN, Alhaji Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, expressed the group’s appreciation for the accomplishment.

He made the observation that the DSS has handled the security difficulties in the states that were named with the highest expertise, which is something that deserves commendation.

In addition, Othman-Ngelzarma praised President Bola Tinubu for his decision to appoint Tosin Ajayi as the Director-General of the DSS, describing it as one of the president’s administration’s most wise choices.

When it came to protecting people and property, he advised other security agencies to take a lesson from the approach that the new leadership of the DSS had taken.

He said, “We salute the professionalism with which the DSS has been handling the delicate security challenges in Plateau, Benue, and several other states.”

In addition to this, he mentioned that the DSS, which was led by Ajayi, had been able to appropriately differentiate between law-abiding Fulani herdsmen and criminals.

More than twenty percent of MACBAN members and four million heads of cattle have been compelled to leave Nigeria as a result of the country’s instability, according to Othman-Ngelzarma, who also claimed that many families had been forced to relocate.

The departure of herders, he pointed out, had resulted in an increase in the price of beef, which had been the most affordable source of meat in Nigeria up until that moment.

Through his statement, he reaffirmed the association’s willingness to collaborate with both the federal government and state governments in order to provide assistance to security authorities in their efforts to restore calm.

This would ensure that economic and business activity would go without any interruptions.

In addition, he expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for delivering on one of the pledges he made during the campaign by establishing the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development.
