Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker of the house of representatives, has emphasized the need for the south-east to firmly align with the center before 2027, as President Bola Tinubu nears the midterm of his term.

This statement was made by Kalu yesterday, during the unveiling of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) office in Umuahia, which is the capital of Abia State. He also mentioned that Tinubu had done a lot for the zone in order to garner its vote during the election.

Kalu said, “The RHP is a formidable vehicle demonstrating our seriousness for this cause by translating the administration’s national achievements into regional gains and by delivering the majority of votes in the zone for the president in 2027.

Kalu presented “Exhaustive, thematic, and data-driven insight showcasing how the administration has delivered on its eight‐point Renewed Hope Agenda and how the zone can harness these gains for our people.”

He is confident that the zone stands to benefit a great deal from the agenda, and he believes that if it allied itself with the center, it would be empowered to ask for more.

In order to ensure that the region is at the center of the revived hope that the country is experiencing, he urged that the RHP should turn these achievements into political triumphs. This would ensure that the zone is at the center of the revival of hope in the country.

“By embedding these structures, strategies, and ambassadors into every household conversation, the RHP will transform policy wins into popular mandate, guaranteeing that the zone not only benefits from but also drives the continuity of this administration.”

Kingsley Ononogbu, the All Progressives Congress state chairman, had earlier praised the president as an obstinate leader who had shown his intention to alter the nation’s storyline.

After praising Kalu for going above and inspiring pride among youths, Ononogbu said that the state would be wise to side with the federal government.
