The Nigerian Air Force has kept every word of its commitment. The reconstruction of the damaged building has been completed, while 2 brand-new motorcycles have been handed over to their rightful owners.

On January 11, 2025, a sad accidental airstrike happened at Dangebe Village in the Maradun local government area of Zamfara State.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has honored all of the commitments that were made to the families of the deceased and survivors of the incident.

As a result of the struggle against banditry in the North-West region, the casualties were a part of the collateral damage that occurred.
When the incident occurred, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, sent a committee of senior officers on fact-finding visits and then went on to pay a condolence visit to Zamfara State on March 6, 2025, according to a statement released by the National Air Force (NAF) Spokesman, Air Cdre Ehimen Ejodame, on Wednesday.

During the visit, he stated that the CAS spoke with survivors, families of those who had lost loved ones, and members of the community that had been impacted by the tragedy.
He acknowledged the anguish, loss, and disruption that the incident had caused, and he vowed various immediate and long-term actions to assist soothe the suffering of those who had been affected.
The CAS made a commitment to provide financial assistance to the families of those who had passed away, to rebuild the damaged building in the village, to replace the two motorcycles that had been destroyed, and to construct a borehole in the neighboring Kambarawa Village in order to supply potable water to all of the communities that are located in the surrounding area.

“It is heart-warming to announce that the Nigerian Air Force has kept every word of its commitment. The reconstruction of the damaged building has been completed, while 2 brand-new motorcycles have been handed over to their rightful owners.
“Additionally, the promised borehole has been successfully drilled and is now serving Kambarawa Village and surrounding settlements, providing clean, accessible water to hundreds of residents.
“Funds have also been fully disbursed to victims and their families to aid their recovery and rebuild their lives.
“These actions are reflective of the Nigerian Air Force’s values of professionalism, responsibility, and respect for human dignity. The Service remains committed to upholding transparency and accountability in all its operations.
“It also reaffirms its resolve to minimize civilian harm, uphold human rights, and promote enduring civil-military relations as a strategic and moral imperative.
“The Service will continue to strengthen its engagements with communities, ensure strict adherence to rules of engagement, and maintain the highest standards of professionalism in the conduct of its operations across all theatres.”
