The burial of Pope Francis, who passed away recently, will begin on Saturday at ten o’clock in the morning in front of St. Peter’s Basilica, according to an announcement made by the Vatican.

The burial mass will be held in accordance with the streamlined rules that were released by the Vatican in the previous year.

These rules are known as the Rite of Burial for the Roman Pontiff, and they were authorized by the late Pope Francis.

At his apartment in the Casa Santa Marta, which is located within Vatican City, the Pope passed away at the age of 88 on Easter Monday, according to the Vatican.

The funeral service will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who is the dean of the College of Cardinals.

The casket will be transported to St. Peter’s Basilica, which is named after the first pope, and then to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, which is the location where Francis requested to be laid to rest.

The funeral of Pope Francis will be a more subdued affair as a result of the pontiff’s decision to simplify the ceremony, which is in contrast to the long-standing tradition of the Vatican.

A new pontiff will most likely be chosen after a period of many weeks. On Tuesday, Catholics all over the world proclaimed formal periods of mourning in response to the passing of Pope Francis.
