The bodies of two men, one of whom had been beheaded, were discovered by residents of the Idimu neighborhood in Lagos State on Sunday, which caused the neighborhood to become tense.

The homicides transpired late Saturday night, but the bodies were not found until Sunday morning along Oladun Road.

According to a local named Lanre Ajao, who spoke with Punch, one of the deceased individuals was identified as Baba Oja.

He said, “We woke up to see their lifeless bodies on the road this morning. We cannot immediately identify the one with a severed head but the other person is Baba Oja. He is very popular in this area.

“He was also known to always mingle with some boys who ran after flashy cars to collect money from the drivers around the Council bus stop. We still saw him yesterday controlling the traffic for some of the flashy cars.”

Another resident said that the nature of the killings indicated cult violence.

“We found out that the incident was not just a fight. It is related to a cult attack because of the way the two of them were killed. However, incidents like this are not common in this area. That is why people were shocked to see this.”

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who serves as the Public Relations Officer for the state Police, was not available to be reached because his phone did not respond to any of the calls that were placed to it.
