They died after their movie director offered them rice and everybody ate.
The death of two actors who have not yet been identified was confirmed by the Imo State Police Command in Owerri, the state capital, on Friday. The incidents occurred after the individuals ate rice and wine.
There were four actors who were brought to the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Owerri, and two of them were confirmed dead upon arrival, according to the news that broke on Friday night.
According to report, they had attended a house party after filming a movie, where they ate rice and drank wine that was provided by the director of the movie who remained nameless. It was in the early hours of Friday morning when the bodies of two of them were found.
According to DSP Henry Okoye, the Police Public Relations Officer for Imo State Command, investigations have commenced to determine the cause of the two actors’ deaths.
Confirming the incidence, Okoye stated, “Yes, the Command is aware of the unfortunate incident of unnatural death. I can confirm that two people were pronounced dead while two were hospitalised.
“As I speak with you, the Commissioner of Police for Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma has directed the Pathologist to conduct tests on the two deceased persons to ascertain the cause of their deaths.
“The results will determine the next line of action on the matter.”
The incident was reported by Kaito Karisia, who also shared the footage on his Facebook account. He stated that two other male survivors were being treated at the Federal Teaching Hospital Owerri after being rushed there.
“I went back to FMC this evening to checkup on the remaining 2 guys from the house party and found them up & kicking.
“Their host (the movie director) offered them rice and everybody ate.
“He later presented them with a bottle of Callypso and wine. But they only took a sip and never drank again.
“Ha justuru tastetia the drink. Each of them… However, the two other guys who are now dead finished the drink.”
