Good Friday, April 18th, and Easter Monday, April 21st, 2025, are national holidays that the federal government has designated to honor the Christian celebrations of sacrifice and resurrection, respectively.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior and spokesperson for the Federal Government, made the announcement on Tuesday and offered his sincerest greetings to Christians nationwide.

The minister also urged Nigerians to make use of the holiday season to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and stability, as stated in a statement that was issued by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, who serves as the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.

He assuaged the concerns of the populace by assuring them that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is resolute in his dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to encourage the growth and development of the nation.

It reads, “Furthermore, he encouraged Nigerians to extend love and goodwill to their neighbours through acts of kindness and generosity.

“The Minister wished all Christians a blissful Easter celebration and extended warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians.”
