Bayern Munich and Harry Kane face a tough challenge as they travel to Inter Milan on Wednesday, needing a victory to keep their Champions League dreams alive. Inter’s 2-1 win in the first leg puts them in a strong position to reach the semi-finals.

Despite dominating the first leg, Bayern failed to capitalize on their chances, with Kane hitting the post from just five meters out. The German giants have struggled to convert their chances in recent games, including Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund.

“We were dominant, but we were a bit wasteful with our chances,” Kane said after the Dortmund match. “We just have to be more clinical. On another day, we would have got three or four against them (Inter). It’s about being there in the right moments.”

Kane’s form has been impressive this Champions League season, with 10 goals in 12 games. However, Bayern’s defensive woes, including the absence of several key players, make it even more crucial for the team to capitalize on their chances.

“We just need to win the game,” said Joshua Kimmich. “It’s not like we need a miracle. If we’re a bit more efficient, the game can go our way.” Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is confident in his team’s ability to replicate their first-leg performance. “We’ve got to play with pace, aggression, and organisation,” he said. “We go into this clash with a lot of confidence, against one of the top three or four teams in the world.”

Bayern will need a two-goal win or a victory followed by a triumph on penalties to reach the semi-finals. The team will have to overcome Inter’s solid defense, which has conceded just three goals in 11 Champions League games this season.

With their killer instinct put to the test, Bayern and Kane will need to rise to the challenge to keep their Champions League dreams alive.
