It has been claimed that a brutal assault has taken place in the hamlet of Zikke, which is located in the Kwall area of the Bassa Local Government Area in Plateau State.

According to sources, total number of 40 people have been killed in this attack. Information gathered revealed that the village was attacked by the people who are believed to be herders around 2:45am on Monday, 14.

Not only did the attack result in the devastating loss of lives, but it also resulted in the destruction of a great number of properties.

However, the spokesperson for the Plateau police command, Alfred Alabo, has not yet commented on the attack.

This incident occurred just few days after the Fulani herdsmen attacked different communities in Plateau according to the statement released on April 9, 2025, Titled, “FULANI MILITIAS LAUNCH THREE SEPARATE ATTACKS ON IRIGWE COMMUNITIES BARELY 24 HOURS AFTER MASS BURIAL OF HWRRA ATTACK VICTIMS.” This statement was signed byJoseph Chudu Yonkpa, the National Publicity Secretary of Irigwe Youth Movement.

It reads, “Tragedy has struck our community once again. Barely 24 hours after we laid our beloved brothers of Hwrra village to rest, Fulani militias launched three separate attacks on Irigwe communities yesterday night April 8, 2025.

“The marauders carried out devastating ambushes in three locations: Zashi of Kperie, Kwall district; MODACS Hotel beside the College of Accountancy, Kwall; and Twin Hill (Gyu) of Miango district.

“In these attacks, two innocent lives were lost. Mr. Abba Sunday Ngah, 19 years old, was brutally murdered at Zashi, Kperie, and his motorcycle was carted away by the militias. Mr. Azie Daniel, 47 years old, was also killed beside MODACS Hotel, Kwall.

“The victims at Twin Hill, Miango district, narrowly escaped the attack.

“These attacks are part of a disturbing trend of violence and senseless farm crops destructions that has plagued Irigwe land for some years now.

“The Irigwe Youth Movement is deeply concerned about the silence of state actors, the lack of condemnation, and the absence of intervention or visitation to our people.

“We are particularly worried about the lack of action taken to arrest the perpetrators of these heinous crimes as they continue to kill our people on daily basis.

“May the souls of our loved ones find solace with the Lord. We will continue to seek justice for our slain brothers and sisters and for the peace and security of Irigwe land.

“We equally charge our people to intensify vigilance as our attackers have not shown any sign to stop their atrocities in our land.”
