Nasarawa United face severe penalties from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) following multiple breaches of the 2025 Framework and Rules during their recent match against Plateau United on Sunday.

The Lafia-based club has been charged with failing to provide adequate security, allowing unauthorized individuals to access restricted areas and harass Plateau United players and match officials.

Additionally, Nasarawa United supporters caused disturbances, assaulted the away team, and specifically targeted Plateau United’s Vincent Temitope with intent to cause serious harm, further violating NPFL regulations.

As a result, Nasarawa United have been banished from their home ground and will play all remaining home matches at Pantami Stadium in Gombe.

The club has been slapped with fines totaling ₦6 million: ₦1 million for inadequate security and ₦1 million for failing to control their supporters, ₦3 million for persistent rule breaches, and ₦1 million to cover medical expenses and compensation for Temitope.

The NPFL’s disciplinary measures underscore its commitment to upholding safety and conduct standards in the league.
