Nigeria international striker Ademola Lookman has reportedly informed Atalanta management that he plans to leave the club this summer. According to Ireport24news, Lookman and Atalanta have a “gentleman’s agreement” about leaving the decision to the player at the end of the season regarding his future. The striker is now set to leave, knowing he has interest from bigger clubs across Europe, with Barcelona and Newcastle United reportedly among major clubs watching Lookman’s situation.

The 27-year-old has been described as “world-class” by commentator Matteo Bonetti due to his performances in Serie A. Several clubs are interested in signing Lookman, including Napoli and Manchester United. Nottingham Forest have also set their sights on attempting to win the race for Lookman, with the player having worked his way onto the radar at the City Ground as preparations are made for the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest showed ambition ahead of the campaign, with Elliot Anderson completing a £35 million switch from Newcastle United. The team is looking to make further adjustments to their squad as they close in on securing Champions League qualification. Although Jota Silva has made an impact on the flanks, Nottingham Forest have pinpointed Lookman as a potential standout recruit.

Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are not expected to enter the race for Lookman’s signature, having landed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli during the winter transfer window. However, Nottingham Forest will still face competition from clubs like Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa, who have all been linked to Lookman. The player’s future is uncertain, but it is clear that he has caught the attention of several top clubs in Europe.
