The arrest was made after a painstaking manhunt led operatives back to Ore.
The suspect in the murder of Alhaji Awoyinka Sumaila, a businessman from Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, Ondo State, has been apprehended by the state’s Police Command.
IREPORT247NEW reported that the deceased businessman, who was a vendor of building materials, was murdered on Saturday evening, March 1st at his apartment in the Idi Mango neighborhood of Ore, which is located directly across from Caring Heart Mega School.

According to source, “He was assassinated the moment he left the mosque after Taraweeh prayer, very close to his house, around 8:35 p.m. on Saturday.
“After he left the mosque, some persons dressed in white attire alighted from a motorcycle and stayed around the place.
“As he was about to enter his house, they ambushed him and shot him. He was shot at close range, and he died on the spot.”
In a statement released on Friday, April 10, the command’s spokesman, DSP Ayanlade Olushola, confirmed that the prime suspect, one Ijalo, was apprehended in Osogbo, Osun, on April 10th, following a covert investigation.
Olusola said, “The arrest was made after a painstaking manhunt led operatives back to Ore.
“A locally-made pistol believed to have been used in the murder, along with criminal charms, were recovered during a search of the suspect’s premises.”
Olusola promised the people of Ondo State that they would not rest until they had eliminated all criminals from the state.
