NLO Announces Management Workshop for 2025 League Season

The Nationwide League One (NLO), Nigeria’s grassroots domestic league regulatory body, will host a comprehensive two-day virtual Management Workshop for team managers of all Division 1 and NLO U19 clubs participating in the New Year Mega Lottery/NLO 2025 League season.

Scheduled for April 17 and 18, the workshop aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of club management personnel to ensure a professional and successful season.

Tayo Egbaiyelo, NLO League Manager and Member of the Order of Niger (MON), emphasized the workshop’s importance, stating, “This mandatory event, organized in collaboration with STW Nigeria LTD, is designed to equip management staff with the tools needed to navigate the demands of the upcoming season effectively.”

The workshop will feature a lineup of expert speakers addressing critical topics. On April 17, Mr. Nasir Jubril will cover Transfers in Amateur Football, followed by Dr. Damilola Adedotun on Financial Management for Clubs. Ms. Nkechi Obi will share insights on Building Strong Club Brands: Marketing and Fan Engagement Strategies, while Dr. Femi Onifade will discuss Sustainability in Football: Environmental Responsibility and Initiatives.

Day two will begin with Prof. Morounfolu M addressing Leadership and Governance in Football Management. Dr. Robinson Okosun, a renowned psychologist and former Nigerian volleyball star, will explore Mental Health Among Amateur Football Players in Nigeria. The workshop will conclude with Olushola Ogunnowo, NLO’s Chief Operating Officer, guiding attendees through the NLO Rule Book.

The virtual event is free and mandatory for all NYML/NLO clubs, with each club required to send at least two management representatives. Egbaiyelo expressed confidence that the workshop will play a pivotal role in advancing Nigerian football, stating, “We believe this initiative will significantly contribute to the success of the 2025 season and the growth of the sport in our nation.”
