During his meeting with General Shahir Shamsad, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the Defence Headquarters Abuja on Thursday, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa revealed this.
Director of Defense Information Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau stated that the CDS had stressed the significance of strategic cooperation between the two nations in training, specifically in the areas of Special Forces training, veteran affairs management, border security, and intelligence sharing.
“These collaborative efforts have so far ensured the training of over two thousand officers in various Pakistani military institutions.”
The chief of defense for Pakistan has praised the Nigerian military for their counterinsurgency, terrorism, and other security-related endeavors.
In addition to highlighting the close connection that exists between his country and Nigeria, he also mentioned that both nations share similarities in terms of culture, religion, and other cultural diversity.
