With 1,630 accredited delegates, the primary election for the All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun in the state of Anambra.

The election took place in two distinct centers. Additionally, the primary election for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is taking place today, and Governor Chukwuma Soludo is the only candidate running for the position. Because his opponent, John Nwosu, withdrew from the race on Friday night.

Dr. George Moghalu is the only candidate running for the Labour Party (LP), while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not have any candidates running for office.

Despite the withdrawal of two candidates on Friday night, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the only political party that is running numerous candidates for the governorship election that will take place on November 8.

The APC accreditation, on the other hand, began at 9.30 in the morning at the Marble Arch hotel, which served as the location for the people of the Awka North Senatorial zone.

Meanwhile, the gate hotel in Agu-Awka was designed to accommodate the delegates from the Central and South Senatorial zones, respectively.

Protesters gathered outside the gate in large numbers, with many of them believed to be delegates loyal to other candidates. To keep the calm, the Army, Civil Defense Corps, Road Safety staff, and a large number of cops were sent out.

The 1,630 delegates represent the three senatorial zones in Anambra State, which has twenty-one LGAs.
