FATHER, MOTHER AND TWO UNDERAGE CHILDREN KIDNAPPED FROM THEIR FARM
A man named Godwin Anuka, who was kidnapped together with his wife and two children in Ubulu-Uku, Delta State, by individuals who are believed to be Fulani herders, has been killed by the individuals who kidnapped him in the presence of his wife and children.
This information was provided by Harrison Gwamnishu, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and Youth Mobilization to the Governor of Delta State, in a post that was published on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 2.
According to Gwamnishu, the kidnappers kidnapped two people on March 23 and took them into the bush while demanding a ransom.
Chibueze, a student at Delta State Polytechnic, and Mr. Afam Soeze, who was picked up outside his gate at Ubulu-Uku, were identified as the two individuals that were kidnapped and taken captive.
Gwamnishu wrote, “Chibueze from Issele-Uku, a student of Delta State Polytechnic was kidnapped from Ogwashi 23rd March, 2025 Night.
“Mr Afam Soeze was kidnapped outside his gate at Ubulu-Uku on 23rd March, 2025. Night.
“Mr GODWIN ANUKA, his wife and two Underage children were kidnapped on 29th March, 2025 at their farm in Ubulu-Uku, Delta State #Afternoon.
- “It’s the same five set of Fulani Armed kidnappers that carried out these heinous crime.
- “They kidnapped Chibueze from Ogwashi-Uku, trekked to Ubulu-Uku and kidnapped Mr Afam, they trekked, crossed the Isah Ogwashi/Ubulu-Uku road to PowerLine and headed to farm road towards Ani-Uje Ubulu-Uku where they camped for days and started calling for ransom.
- “It was where they camped that they saw Mr GODWIN and his family and kidnapped all of them.
- “The Ubulu-Uku Central Vigilante team, the Nigeria Army mobilized by Aniocha South LGA Chairman Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike and Ubulu-Uku Palace made effort to rescue them.
- “Yesterday, after huge ransom was paid, the kidnappers released Chibueze, Mr. Afam, late Godwin wife and two children and we were told that Mr. Godwin was shot and killed right inside the farm in the presence of his wife and children.
- “They released them at Rail Way line after Akuku-AGBOR.
- “In all of this, we should know that they are close to us. We must prepare and fund our local community security. Each Security team should secure their community. They are the solution we need at this time.”
