Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga was released in Zamfara State

Former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga (Rtd), has been released from captivity after being held captive for a total of 56 days.

IREPORT247NEW recall that bandits raided the Tsiga hamlet in Katsina State’s Bakori local government area and abducted a number of locals, including Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga (rtd).

Residents were in a state of terror and mayhem as armed attackers invaded the hamlet early on February 5 2025, Thursday morning, at precisely 12:30 am.

Tsiga remained in captivity despite prior anticipation that he would be released at the conclusion of many weeks of negotiations and the payment of ransom by his family.

According to a report, the actual sum paid was roughly three times larger than the first number of ₦60 million that was suggested in the initial reports.

Following the receipt of the ransom, the kidnappers remained silent for a period of one week before finally releasing Tsiga to communicate with his family, according to a source associated with the family.

According to the source, Tsiga was released in Zamfara, and from there he would be taken to the capital city of Abuja. The information was corroborated by a high-ranking military commander, who stated that Tsiga is in good health and safe after the hardship he went through.
