Nigerian heavyweight boxer Efe Ajagba is confident that he possesses the necessary skills and abilities to become a world champion. Ajagba, who is set to fight Martin Bakole on May 4, believes that he has the power, skills, and determination to succeed at the highest level.

“I have the abilities, I have the skills, I have the power, everything to become a heavyweight champion,” Ajagba told Sky Sports. The 30-year-old Nigerian is focused on his upcoming fight against Bakole, but he has his sights set on bigger challenges, including a potential title fight against unified champion Oleksandr Usyk or IBF title holder Daniel Dubois.

Ajagba has been in impressive form, winning his last five fights since his lone professional defeat to Frank Sanchez in October 2021. He has been intensifying his preparation ahead of the bout, training with British heavyweight Johnny Fisher.

Former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua has backed Bakole to recover from his recent loss, but he has also thrown his support behind Ajagba to win the fight. The highly anticipated heavyweight clash will feature on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez’s super middleweight championship match against William Scull in Saudi Arabia.

Ajagba’s confidence stems from his recent performances, which have showcased his growth and improvement as a boxer. His training sessions with Johnny Fisher have been particularly beneficial, allowing him to refine his technique and develop new strategies.

The upcoming fight against Bakole is expected to be a thrilling encounter, with both boxers boasting impressive records. However, Ajagba’s determination and focus give him an edge, and he is poised to deliver a standout performance.
