On the day of Sallah, a soldier named Sudik severed the fingers of a shoe vendor named Abdulrahman Salisu. The incident took place at Salisu’s shop, which was located close to Jolly Bread and the Obasanjo Shopping Complex in Minna.
According to Abdulrahman, Sudik went to his store with the intention of purchasing a pair of shoes; however, when the soldier was attended to, the soldier claimed that he had paid for the shoes through a bank transfer.
When asked about the payment alert, Abdulrahman informed the soldier that he had not yet received it.
As Sudik abruptly drew out a cutlass and swung it at Abdulrahman’s head, he insisted that his money had been paid. This caused the scenario to escalate into a violent state.
The three fingers on Abdulrahman’s left hand were cut as a result of his attempt to defend himself by raising his left hand.
During the time that he was yelling for assistance, Sudik and two other individuals who had been with him abandoned the area.
It was at the closest police station that Abdulrahman filed a report about the assault. Although Abdulrahman is currently receiving medical care at the IBB Specialist hospital in Minna, it has come to our attention that Sudik has been taken into custody by the authorities in charge of security issues.
There have been an increasing number of instances of armed robbery and thuggery attacks in the neighborhood, which has caused traders and shop owners from the Mobil roundabout, Jolly Bread, and Obasanjo Shopping Complex to express their concerns.
During the course of their business operations, they stated that they are constantly in danger, and they demanded that the government of Niger State take efforts to increase security measures.
