Nantes defender Nicolas Pallois has made a startling admission, revealing that the Canaries are heavily reliant on Nigerian winger Moses Simon‘s exceptional skills. Simon has been in phenomenal form this season, contributing an impressive 48% of Nantes’ goals.

“We give the ball to Simon. We know that he’ll do damage and we cross our fingers that he succeeds,” Pallois confessed via Get French Football News.

Simon’s incredible performance has earned him a spot among the elite in Ligue 1. With 15 goal contributions this season, he ranks alongside the best in the league. His impressive stats include seven goals and eight assists, making him a vital cog in Nantes’ machinery.

The Nigerian forward is currently the joint-top scorer for Nantes, alongside Matthis Abline. His closest teammate in terms of assists is Brazilian midfielder Douglas Augusto, who has managed only three assists.

Nantes has struggled with relegation for most of the season, but thanks to Simon’s heroics, they are currently 13th in the table, three points away from safety. The player’s individual brilliance has also earned him a spot among the best dribblers in Europe, ranking behind Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.

Since joining Nantes in 2020, Simon has been an influential player, guiding the team to a Coupe de France title in 2022. This achievement marked the club’s first trophy in 22 years.

Despite being touted for bigger moves in Europe, Nantes has managed to retain Simon’s services until 2026. The club’s decision to extend his contract has been vindicated by his outstanding performances this season.

As Nantes continues to battle relegation, Simon’s brilliance will be crucial in determining the team’s fate. With his exceptional skills and Pallois’ admission of the team’s reliance on him, Simon will undoubtedly be the player to watch in the remaining games of the season.
