
Nigerian boxer Elizabeth Oshoba has expressed delight after defeating Czech fighter Lenka Volejnikova on points, extending her unbeaten professional record to 9-0-0. Oshoba dominated the six-round contest at York Hall, London, winning unanimously on all judges’ scorecards.
“I’m absolutely thrilled with this victory. The plan was to box smart and that’s exactly what I did,” Oshoba told Journalists. The 25-year-old Nigerian, who became the first female Nigerian boxer to win a world title in 2024, controlled the bout from start to finish, utilizing her superior footwork and hand speed to outclass her Czech opponent.
“Every fight is a step towards greatness. This wasn’t just about winning, but also about improving on my technique and showing my versatility in the ring,” she added. Currently ranked 10th in the World Boxing Association featherweight division and fourth in the super lightweight category, Oshoba’s stock continues to rise in international boxing circles.
