Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sallah visit to Kogi Central Senatorial District will proceed as planned
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has confirmed her determination to visit her area for the celebrations of Sallah.
She is unfazed by the recent prohibition on rallies and public activities, which they have attempted to prevent.
The public was given the assurance that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s visit would proceed according to the plan in an official statement that was issued by her media team early on Tuesday that morning.
The statement reads, “We are pleased to confirm that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sallah visit to Kogi Central Senatorial District will proceed as planned.
“Despite rumours circulating online, there has been no official announcement from our office regarding the cancellation of this visit.
“Reaffirming her duty as a lawmaker, she encouraged her constituents to turn out in large numbers to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr alongside her.
“As the senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan remains committed to engaging with her community and fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation.
“Her dedication to the people of Kogi Central is unwavering, and she looks forward to celebrating Eid-el-Fitr with her constituents.
“We would like to assure the public that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a successful and joyous event. We invite all members of the community to join us in marking this special occasion.”
Only a few hours prior to her announcement of the visit, the government of Kogi State issued a ban on public meetings and rallies, claiming worries over public safety.
IREPORT247NEW reported that the government of Kogi State has prohibited rallies and the use of security convoys in the state over the killings and crises in various area of the state. All fishing activities in the Kogi Local Government Area have also been put on hold until peace has been fully restored.
After a meeting with traditional rulers and security operatives, the state administration made this known on Monday March 31, in a statement signed by Kingsley Fanwo, the commissioner of information and communication.
