King Charles awarded Katarina Johnson-Thompson an MBE for her excellent track and field career

King Charles participated in his first public engagement on Tuesday since he was hospitalized for a brief period of time last week due to the side effects of his cancer treatment.

IREPORT247NEW reported that the British monarch, King Charles, was hospitalized for a short while on Thursday due to complications from his cancer treatment; Buckingham Palace described the incident as a “minor bump in the road.”

The 76-year-old monarch has been under therapy since February of last year, when tests conducted following an operation to address an enlarged prostate revealed an unidentified type of cancer.

His events scheduled for Friday was postponed, according to the palace, which stated that he had returned to his residence, Clarence House, as a precautionary measure.

“Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital.

Charles presided over Windsor Castle investitures on Tuesday after canceling several engagements last week. He awarded Katarina Johnson-Thompson an MBE for her excellent track and field career during the occasion.

“He seemed in good spirits. You know it’s long, all day, because so many people are getting honoured today,” Johnson-Thompson said afterward.

“So he seems in really good spirits and I’m happy to see that he’s fit and well.”

Alan Titchmarsh, a well-known gardener and broadcaster, lauded the King for his “boundless energy” in spite of the fact that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Titchmarsh was also a recipient of the CBE for his contributions to the fields of horticulture and philanthropy.

After having a relaxing weekend and focusing on state business on Monday, the King greeted scores of awardees at Windsor Castle. He was seen smiling and shaking hands with the recipients.

He had been working on state business over weekend. He was seen wielding the sword while he was knighting Royal Ballet choreographer Professor Sir Wayne McGregor.
