A gas explosion shook a firm known as Ralph Engineering located at Mosheshe Estate in Effurun, Delta State on Sunday.

The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals. A number of people who live in the neighboring towns of Udu, Warri, Osubi, and Okuokoko have said that the explosion, which took place at approximately 5am jolted them awake.

After additional investigation, it was discovered that the victims had been removed from the location.

In another case, eight stores in the Warri South Local Government Area of the state were destroyed by fire yesterday, resulting in the destruction of furniture and equipment that was valued at millions of naira.

These shops were located opposite the Federal Government College in Warri. A welding shop was said to have been the origin of the fire at 9am.

As the flames became more intense, the welder and his apprentice made an effort to put out the fire and communicated their need for aid to others.

Nevertheless, by the time the firefighters arrived, the fire had already burned the furniture store as well as numerous other establishments in the adjacent surrounding area.

The welder, who had come at work earlier that morning with the apprentice, reportedly fled the scene after realizing the scale of the damage, leaving his trainee behind.

The fate of the welder and the other individuals could not be determined at the time that this report was being submitted. Investigations are still being conducted in order to gather additional information.
