Sadly, Bisola Ajimobi Kola-Daisi, the first child of the late Abiola Ajimobi—the former governor of Oyo State—passed away at the age of 42. Bisola passed away on Thursday morning following a short illness.
Bisola Kola-Daisi was a devoted mother of three children. She was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, a politician and bank executive who was born in Ibadan. As he expressed his sorrow over her passing, her husband referred to her as “a shining star” and stated that their children would carry on their families’ heritage.
“The world has lost a shining star. Bisola was not just my wife; she was my partner in everything. Her spirit will live on in our children.”
Her untimely demise, which was announced in the early hours of Thursday, March 27, 2025, has shaken the political and corporate communities, where she had a prominent profile.
Bisola was the managing director of Grandex Nigeria Ltd., a well-known FMCG retail and wholesale chain founded in 1984. She carved out a position for woman in a male-dominated field by founding the Florence H. Luxury store.
Outside of her professional life, she served the public sector as a special advisor to Atiku Bagudu, the Nigerian minister of budget and planning. People looked up to her because she was so vocal about economic development and women’s empowerment.
