Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has declared its intention to seek redress through the courts following claims that it fired three thousand workers.

These assertions were categorically rejected by the company, which emphasized that the total number of employees it employs is 2,500.

The misinformation was being circulated with the intent to harm IBEDC’s reputation, according to the organization.

The company is currently “actively supporting the resolution of the ongoing third-party outsourcing (PIPILL) issue with the Oyo State branch of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC,” according to a statement made by Angela Olanrewaju, who is the Coordinating Head of Corporate Services of IBEDC.

Angela stressed the importance of the company’s dedication to offering first-rate service and consistently developing strategies to boost value in all of its franchise locations.

The Federal Ministry of Labor’s efforts to facilitate discussions among parties were also commended by Angela, who also praised the professionalism shown throughout the continuing mediation process.

Angela said, The company acknowledges the professionalism exhibited during the mediation process, which remains ongoing. In light of the ongoing situation, IBEDC plans to take legal action to address the defamation.”

The Oyo State branch of NLC was strongly encouraged by Angela to demonstrate patience during this period and to desist from taking any acts that could potentially disrupt operations.
