Kogi Jailbreak – The Honourable (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of the Interior, has issued an order for an immediate investigation into the break-in that occurred at the Koton Karfe Correctional Centre in the state of Kogi.

This information was included in a statement that was released by SA Media on Monday to the Minister of Interior, Babatunde Alao. The statement referred to the situation as “unfortunate.”

With the help of the service’s biometric database and cutting-edge surveillance technology, the minister gave the public the assurance that all prisoners would be brought back to justice.

The minister issued a directive to Sylvester Ndidi, the Acting Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), to visit the facility, evaluate the situation, and carry out a comprehensive audit in order to ascertain the reason for the escape.

The minister said, “We are on top of the situation. Our men are on the ground in Kogi, and I have ordered a comprehensive audit of the situation.”

IREPORT247NEW reports jail break that took place in the early hours of Monday morning at the Federal Correctional Centre in Kotonkarfe, which is located in the state of Kogi.

It has not been officially confirmed how many inmates escaped, but the government estimates that at least twelve of them were able to get out of their confinement.

Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, issued a statement on Monday stating that the state government will collaborate with security personnel in order to determine the reason for the break-in and to make sure that those who escaped are brought back into custody.

The statement, “The theory that the inmates escaped through the tower without causing any structural damage raises serious concerns.

“This calls for a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the escape, arrest the fleeing inmates, and identify possible saboteurs within the system.

“Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed the State Security Adviser to collaborate with the Federal Correctional Centre and other security agencies to ensure such security breaches do not happen again.”
