Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly set to go head-to-head in the summer transfer window for the signature of Atalanta BC’s Ademola Lookman. The 26-year-old winger has been in impressive form this season, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists in 32 games.

Lookman’s contract with Atalanta is set to expire in 2026, and the club has an option to extend it by a year. However, a rift between Lookman and coach Gian Gasperini has fueled speculation that the Nigerian international may be on his way out of the club.

According to reports, both Chelsea and Liverpool are willing to offer €75m (£63.2m) to sign Lookman. The winger’s versatility, being able to play as a right winger, left winger, second striker, and centre-forward, makes him an attractive prospect for both clubs.

Lookman’s potential arrival at Liverpool could fill the void left by Mohamed Salah, who is yet to agree on a contract extension. The Reds are also facing uncertainty over the futures of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez.

Chelsea, on the other hand, may see Lookman as a replacement for one of their attacking players who may leave the club in the summer. With both clubs willing to offer a significant amount for his signature, Lookman’s future is set to be one of the most intriguing transfer sagas of the summer.
