Ongoing Project: Makinde Inspect 110km Circular Road, Other

Earlier today, we inspected the ongoing construction of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road.

The bridges and interchanges for the 32.2 km South East Wing have already been completed and the road construction is progressing as scheduled.

The 110km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road and the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport’s ongoing upgrading to an international airport were inspected by Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo state, on March 22.

According to Makinde, the bridges and interchanges for the 32.2 kilometer South East Wing at Ladoja Circular Road have already been finished, and the development of the road is proceeding according to the projected timeline. According to him, the segment will be ready before the year comes to an end.

Makinde said, “Earlier today, we inspected the ongoing construction of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road. The bridges and interchanges for the 32.2 km South East Wing have already been completed and the road construction is progressing as scheduled.

“This part will be ready before the end of the year. The North East Wing of about 36 km is currently being cleared.

“We also inspected the ongoing upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to an international airport. Work is progressing on the new terminal building and the expansion of the runway to accommodate bigger aircraft.”

Governor Seyi Makinde is determined that the stipulated standard of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) is conformed with.

The second phase upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport that cost ₦7,008,688.00 (Seven billion, eight million, six hundred and eighty-eight thousand naira) was approved on February 25 by the Council according to the statement signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Honourable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation Oyo State and also published by IREPORT247NEW on 26th February.

Governor Seyi Makinde had said at the flag-off of the airport last year that the State will not compromise the upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to International status and that all due diligence will be followed in this regard.

Several Aviation Experts from the Federal Airports Authority Of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Air Force, are members of the Airport Upgrade Committee.

IREPORT247NEW also reported that the compensation of ₦2,399,428.00 (Two billion, three hundred and ninety-nine million, four hundred and twenty-eight thousand naira) was approved by the Council for the 32.2km Southeast segment of the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular road project.
