Noah’s Ark Communications Limited, a communication marketing company, has joined forces with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to raise awareness about the need for recycling and proper waste disposal on its occasion of 17th Anniversary.

Speaking shortly after the 5km walkathon that was held in Lagos with the theme “Recycling in a Plastic World: An Eco Walk,” the Chief Executive Officer of Noah’s Ark Communications, Lanre Adisa, mentioned that the partnership with the waste management agency was intended to educate the community and the people about the significance of recycling as well as the benefits that it offers.

The walk that the team decided to go on was described by Adisa as a courageous move toward ensuring that everyone in the neighborhood lives better. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by LAWMA, and the Nigerian Police Force, he also indicated the desire of the company to collaborate more with LAWMA in order to further spread the message of waste management and recycling.

Adisa said, “There’s a whole lot that can happen. I believe we can change our world starting from here. Everybody believes that the government should do everything for them but life doesn’t run that way. We are all governments and have a role to play.

“If you decide to drop plastic or any other waste on the road, the government cannot be blamed.  If there’s any blame, it should come to you because the day the flood comes and overtakes your house, you will suffer the consequences. We hope that together we can make a difference.”

Ruqayah Kehinde, the regional manager of Recycling Waste for the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), made a statement in which she outlined the various waste management programs and initiatives that the agency has implemented.

She also mentioned that the agency is still dedicated to promoting the proper disposal of waste and recyclable materials.
