Nigeria’s Super Eagles are gearing up for a crucial World Cup qualifier match against Rwanda in Kigali today. The team is determined to secure a win, which would relaunch their chances of making it to the 2026 World Cup.

The Super Eagles currently sit in fifth position in Group C with only three points, while Rwanda, South Africa, and Benin Republic lead the group with seven points each. Coach Eric Chelle has promised to return the Super Eagles to an attacking style of football, and the team is ready to give it their all.

“We have no other option than to get the three points here in Kigali,” said Super Eagles’ Skipper, William Troost-Ekong. “We are ready for whatever style of football our coach wants us to play.”

The team’s latest talent, midfielder Papa Daniel Mustapha, is also eager to make a mark. “To me, I know we have everything—quality players. I just pray for luck,” he said. “If I get a chance, I’ll be happy, and I’ll show Nigeria and the world who I am and what I can do.”

Ademola Lookman, the African Footballer of the Year, also expressed his confidence in the team. “Everybody knows the level of the players that we have here. It’s an incredible group of players, and most importantly, they’re good people.”

The Federal Government has mobilized 500 Nigerians in Rwanda to support the Super Eagles, and a delegation of 1,500 fans is expected to arrive in Kigali with drums, horns, and other musical instruments to cheer on the team.
