CAF Unveils Schedule for Under-17 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the schedule for the CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, detailing dates, kick-off times, and venues for the prestigious youth tournament. The 15th edition of this continental competition will see 16 nations vying for glory from March 30 to April 19, 2025.

Tournament VenuesMatches will be hosted across four stadiums in Morocco:

El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia

Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca

Berrechid Stadium in Casablanca

El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida

Opening Matches and Key Fixtures

The tournament kicks off on Saturday, March 30, at El Bachir Stadium, where hosts Morocco will face Uganda, the East African champions, at 22:00 local time (GMT).

The action continues on Sunday, March 31, with a packed schedule:

At 14:00, Tanzania takes on Southern African champions Zambia at Larbi Zaouli Stadium, rounding out the Group A fixtures.

Later, at 17:00, Group B sees Burkina Faso, bronze medalists from the last edition, clash with two-time champions Cameroon at the same venue.

The day concludes at 20:00 with a thrilling north-south showdown between South Africa, runners-up in 2015, and Egypt, 1997 champions, also at Larbi Zaouli Stadium.On Tuesday, April 1, Group C and D matches begin:

At 14:00, reigning champions Senegal face The Gambia at El Abdi Stadium.At 17:00, Somalia, in their second finals appearance, take on Tunisia at the same venue.

In Group D, Mali, who placed fourth in the previous tournament, meet debutants Angola at 17:00.

Finally, at 20:00, former champions Cote d’Ivoire battle Central African Republic.

World Cup Qualification

Beyond crowning a continental champion, the CAF Under-17 AFCON Morocco 2025 doubles as a qualifier for the FIFA World Cup. Africa will send 10 teams to the newly expanded global event, set to be held in Qatar later in 2025.
