Manchester United is reportedly eyeing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a potential addition to their squad, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. The Red Devils are seeking to bolster their attacking options after a lackluster season from current strikers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has impressed with 26 goals in 30 appearances, making him the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig. The Nigerian international is set to return to Napoli in the summer but is likely to depart on a permanent basis ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Manchester United’s interest in Osimhen is part of a broader effort to revamp their striker corps. The team has struggled to find consistency in the final third, scoring just 37 goals in 29 Premier League matches. In addition to Osimhen, the Red Devils are also considering Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.

Osimhen’s potential move to Old Trafford has generated significant interest, with reports suggesting he is keen on joining the Premier League giants despite interest from other top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.

The Nigerian striker is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles, preparing for crucial World Cup qualifier matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Osimhen has expressed his desperation to help Nigeria qualify for the 2026 World Cup, following a disappointing outing in 2022.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Manchester United’s pursuit of Osimhen and other top strikers will be closely watched by fans and pundits alike.
