Nigeria’s U17 girls’ team, the Flamingos, will remain in camp as they gear up for a decisive final-round showdown in the qualification series for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, where they will face off against Algeria.

The first leg of the two-match battle is slated for Saturday, April 19, at Remo Stars’ Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, Nigeria. The teams will then head to Algeria for the return leg a week later, determining which side advances to the global tournament.

The Flamingos, who earned bronze at the 2022 U17 World Cup, secured their spot in this final round with a commanding performance against South Africa’s Bantwana. After a 3-1 victory in Pretoria, Nigeria sealed the deal with a 2-0 win in Ikenne over the weekend, clinching a 5-1 aggregate triumph.

Algeria, meanwhile, fought their way into the final round with resilience. After a 1-2 defeat to Botswana in Gaborone, they roared back with a 4-0 thrashing on home turf, earning the right to challenge Nigeria for a World Cup berth.
