Tyla Wins iHeartRadio – South African singer Tyla has made history at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, winning the World Artiste of the Year category. She edged out Nigerian superstars Tems and Burna Boy, as well as Central Cee and YG Marley, to claim the award.

Tyla’s Rise to Fame
The 23-year-old singer, best known for her global hit “Water”, became the first-ever winner of this newly introduced category at the awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Tyla’s win marks another major milestone in her skyrocketing career.

Other Winners at the iHeartRadio Music Awards
Aside from Tyla’s win, the iHeartRadio Music Awards honored some of the biggest names in global music. Taylor Swift won Artiste of the Year and was recognized for her record-breaking Eras Tour as the Tour of the Century. Mariah Carey received the iHeartRadio Icon Award, while Lady Gaga was honored with the Innovator Award.
