Governor ordered that the suspended commissioners be deprived of all privileges associated with their positions.
Francis Nwifuru, the governor of Ebonyi State, has suspended three commissioners for their absence from a meeting of the State Executive Council.
Solomon Azi, who represented Grants and Donor Agencies, Victor Chukwu, who represented Environment, and Ikeuwa Omebe, who represented Rural Development, are the commissioners that were impacted.
Jude Okpor, who is the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, shared this information on Tuesday while offering a briefing to journalists regarding the outcome of the meeting of the executive council.
In his statement, he explained that the suspension, which will be in effect for a period of one month, was a consequence of the commissioners’ failure to get permission prior to their absence from the important government meeting.
Within his administration, Governor Nwifuru is said to have given a severe warning against public personnel who are absent from work and who have a lazy attitude towards their employment. He also emphasised the significance of maintaining discipline and commitment.
For the duration of the suspension, the governor also ordered that the suspended commissioners be deprived of all privileges associated with their positions.
Contractors working on state government projects were told by Governor Nwifuru to speed up their work as per their contracts. He cautioned that the government would not think twice about using all legal methods to make sure the project was completed on schedule and according to specifications.
