The facility carries crude from ONELGA and part of Imo State to Brass in Bayelsa State, as well as petroleum products from Seplat, Agip, and Shell.

Two explosions have rocked different towns in Rivers State, and they occurred barely 12 hours apart. This has raised concerns about the possibility of renewed unrest in the Niger Delta.

IREPORT247NEW reports an explosion that has shaken the Trans-Niger Pipeline in Bodo, located in the Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State. The explosion took place on Monday night along the vital export pipeline that is responsible for transporting crude to the Bonny Terminal.

This explosion takes place at a time when there are rising concerns about resurgent antagonism in the region. These concerns are being fuelled by the continued political turmoil in the oil-rich state of Rivers. Regarding the prevailing political tensions in the state, however, there has been no direct connection found between the incident and the ongoing tensions.

On the other hand, the Okwawriwa area of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) was the site of another explosion on Tuesday morning. In the morning, residents discovered a manifold attached to a federal pipeline engulfed in flames, according to an eyewitness. The facility carries crude from ONELGA and part of Imo State to Brass in Bayelsa State, as well as petroleum products from Seplat, Agip, and Shell.
