Tragically, twin boys, aged 19, were found dead (shot to death) atop a mountain in Georgia, just one day after tragically missing a flight to Boston to reconnect with friends.
After failing to make their 7 a.m. flight on March 7, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis of Lawrenceville went missing.
The next day, a hiker discovered their bodies at the peak of Bell Mountain, close to the North Carolina border.
No one in their family is buying into the murder-suicide thesis that the investigators have put forth.
Uncle Rahim Brawner, who is grieving, stated that the twins were inseparable and would never harm one another, despite the fact that the Georgia Bureau of Investigations is considering the case as a murder-suicide.
According to Yasmin Brawner, the twins’ aunt, the brothers had a huge support structure, they would have intervened if they had shown any signs of problems or suicidal thoughts.
“They’re very protective of each other. They love each other. I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before.
“We know them. They wouldn’t do anything like this. To say they did this to each other? No. Something happened in those mountains, and we want answers.”
When they recovered, their relatives reported that the brothers’ plane tickets were still in their wallets.
The twins’ family said they haven’t been to Bell Mountain or heard of them hiking, so they don’t know how Qaadir and Naazir got from the airport to there.
An early morning walker found the bodies of the brothers around 11:05 a.m. on March 8. Both of them had been shot.
The GBI reports that the brothers’ autopsies are complete, but they need more forensic tests to determine the cause of death.
Authorities did not identify any specific brother as the perpetrator of the murder-suicide.
