Inspector Oloyede was discovered lifeless in a pool of blood after shooting himself
Police Inspector Commits Suicide – Ajele Oloyede, a police inspector stationed as part of the security detail at a ceramics company in Igbesa, Ogun State, allegedly took his own life after shooting himself.
The incident was discovered by an officer from Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, Tolorunloju Stephen, upon returning from Ikeja at 1:20 p.m., according to Omolola Odutola, the state police spokeswoman.
According to reports, Stephen discovered Oloyede in the security office with his head propped up on a table.
The inspector gave Stephen his word that he was doing OK when Stephen enquired how he was doing.
Based on what Odutola said, Stephen tossed his purse and gun on the table before entering the restroom.
A gunshot rang out a few seconds afterward. Stephen allegedly discovered Oloyede lifeless in a pool of blood, according to Odutola.
“With the help of private security personnel, the wounded officer was immediately taken to Ota General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.
“Police officers visited the scene, and the deceased’s pistol was recovered. His body has been deposited at Ota General Hospital for autopsy, while we have begun notifying his family,” Odutola said.
It was revealed by her that the inquiry into the case would be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran for completion.

On February 6, IREPORT247NEW also reported that a police constable with the Nasarawa State Command’s Mada Station Division named Dogara Akolo-Moses committed suicide while he was on duty in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
According to a witness, the officer shot himself after entering a private area.
Other on-duty cops were alerted by the gunshot and hurried to the scene, where they discovered him lying in a pool of blood.
