Suspicion has been raised regarding the possibility of Bichi and Diggol defecting from the ruling NNPP in Kano State to the APC.

Muhammad Diggol, who had previously served as the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, and Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, who had just left his position as Secretary to the Kano State Government, had met with Senator Barau Jibrin, who is the Deputy President of the Senate, in Abuja.
On Friday, Senator Barau, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), put up images from the meeting on his official Facebook page. He referred to the engagement as “fruitful” and stated that it was centered on the advancement of Kano State and Nigeria.

Barau Jibrin wrote, “Today, I had a fruitful meeting with the former Secretary to the Kano State Government, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the former Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Muhammad Diggol, and other stakeholders of our dear state at my residence in Abuja.

“We had productive discussions on the development of our state and the country. The progress of Kano and Nigeria remains a top priority.
“We will continue collaborating with other stakeholders to advance our state and nation. Let’s work together to improve the lives of our people.”

Barau has recently been receiving defectors from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and other political parties who have converted to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Following the meeting, suspicion has been raised regarding the possibility of Bichi and Diggol defecting from the ruling NNPP in Kano State to the APC. However, the specifics of their discussions have not been disclosed.
