We urge all citizens, regardless of political or social standing, to conduct themselves with decency and responsibility in their words and actions.

The Association of Niger Delta Monarchs of Nigeria (ANDMON) has voiced its concern about the current issues that have arisen between Senator Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, and Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, who is representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The scenario came about as a result of Senator Natasha’s seat in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly being moved to a different location.

A communiqué that was co-signed by ANDMON’s Executive Chairman/General Coordinator, HM King (Capt.) Frank N. Okurakpo Odhe II, Ph.D., and Board of Trustees Secretary, HRM Barr. Anthony Ogbogbo, is where this information was stated.

Part of the statement read, “As monarchs, we hold the responsibility to ensure that the sanctity and dignity of all individuals, regardless of gender or status, are respected within the bounds of the law and human decency.

“These recent developments have shocked and concerned the people of the Niger Delta region and the entire nation.

“Leaders in our society are expected to exemplify integrity, responsibility, and respect for all. As custodians of our people’s culture, values, and traditions, the Association of Niger Delta Monarchs of Nigeria (ANDMON) stands firm in advocating for a society where respect and equity are prioritized in governance and personal interactions.

“We urge all citizens, regardless of political or social standing, to conduct themselves with decency and responsibility in their words and actions.”

Additionally, the Monarchs made an appeal for a peaceful resolution, suggesting that all pending legal challenges be withdrawn and that any disciplinary procedures taken inside the Senate be revisited.

In their capacity as the highest body in the Niger Delta region that represents traditional rulers, they demanded that ANDMON be brought in to mediate between the parties and make it easier for them to reconcile.
