Loveth Alo Helen, who is 32 years old, has been arraigned in an Enugu Magistrate Court for allegedly delivering false evidence at Prophet Ebuka Obi’s Zion Prayer Movement in Lagos.
It was in a video that went viral when Helen was seen making the claim that God had rewarded her with the purchase of a property.
There was a video of the structure that was shown inside the church when she was giving her testimony. A further video clip that has gone viral purportedly shows her claiming that she paid N200 million for the residence.
On Tuesday, she appeared before the Magistrate Court that was sitting in the Enugu North Magistrate District.
The court was presided over by S.O. Chukwuani, and she was charged with four counts, including obtaining by false pretence with the intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by attempting to sell the property.
Architect Emmanuel Asogwa owns a duplex building in Enugu that has five bedrooms and is located at Plot 16, WTC Estate. Helen faced accusations of misrepresenting herself as the owner of the residential property.
She pleaded not guilty after the accusations were read to her. In exchange for a surety who must provide three years’ worth of tax clearance, the magistrate granted her bail in the amount of N1 million.
Loveth Alo Helen and the Commissioner of Police are the parties involved in the case that was marked MEN/112C/25.
The hearing for this case has been postponed until April 9, 2025. After the arraignment, Helen made a statement to the media in which she stated that she had not planned or discussed the testimony with anyone, nor had she received anything from individuals. She insisted that she was acting in good faith, with the hopes of eventually acquiring the property.
