Kidnappers Demand N100m Ransom for Ondo Farmer, Manager

Two men have been abducted by armed individuals who are believed to be kidnappers in the Oba Ile community, which is located along Airport Road in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The victims, a farm estate owner named Mr. Olanrewaju Oyeleye, who was fifty years old, and his farm manager were kidnapped on the farm by the individuals who are suspected of being dangerous criminals on March 7, 2025.

A source who is close to the victims said that the kidnappers made contact with the families of the victims on Saturday and demanded a ransom of one hundred million Nigerian naira in order to secure the release of the two men for their freedom.

It was revealed by the source that Oyeleye, who had been living outside of Nigeria for a number of years, had returned to the country approximately four years ago and made the decision to engage in the mechanised farming company.

In a statement that confirmed the kidnapping, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who is the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, characterised the situation as terrible.

On the other hand, he stated that members of the Amotekun had been sent into the forest in order to rescue the two individuals. He stated that the kidnapping of the farmer and his manager took place in the early hours of Thursday, and that they have been continuing to investigate the matter ever since.

Also law enforcement personnel are exerting a great deal of effort to guarantee that the victims are liberated from their captors.

IREPORT247NEW reported on February 11, the kidnapping of three Federal College of Agriculture, Akure students who were working at a farm close to the Akure Airport in the Oba-ile neighborhood of the state’s Akure North Local Government Area has been confirmed by the Ondo State Police Command.

The victims, who are students participating in the farm’s Industrial Training (IT), were allegedly kidnapped at night as they were on their way home. Funmilayo Odunlami, the Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the event to reporters and stated that the command’s anti-kidnapping agents had been sent to the region.

Adetunji Adeleye, the state’s Amotekun Corps Commander, also attested to the occurrence. He mentioned that in an effort to find the victims, his team and other state security personnel were traveling over the entire region.

According to a family source, the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ relatives and demanded a ransom of N15 million.
