Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has commended his players for their fighting spirit despite a painful 0-1 loss to Katsina United in their matchday 28 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter.

The Oluyole Warriors put up a brave fight until the last minute of added time before conceding the winning goal at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. Ogunbote attributed the defeat to fatigue, which he said hindered his players’ ability to express themselves.

“The boys have done very well, considering what we faced when we were coming here. We came here yesterday evening, so you can see the boys could not really express themselves due to fatigue,” he said.

Despite the loss, Ogunbote is already looking forward to the next match, another away fixture against struggling Akwa United. “This game has come and gone, we are thinking of the next game, that’s it,” he added.

Friday’s result means 3SC remain third on the NPFL table with 43 points after 28 matches.
