Ogun Police Crack Down on Electrocution Case, Arrested Three Prime Suspects

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three individuals – Oladokun Johnson, a welder; Azeez Salami, a truck driver; and Olaleye Kamaldeen, a truck owner – in connection with the electrocution of a 23-year-old apprentice, Jonathan Emmanuel.

The incident occurred at a welding workshop in the Asimolowo area of Ifo, where Emmanuel was working.

According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that Johnson was working with a welding machine that had an exposed live wire. When one of the truck rims being offloaded came into contact with the wire, Emmanuel was electrocuted. The police have recovered the welding machine and exposed wire as evidence and are currently holding the three suspects in custody.

The Ogun State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident. The police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding Emmanuel’s death and to identify any potential safety violations. The case will be transferred to the SCID for further investigation and possible prosecution.
