The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership has entered its mid-season break, with the second stanza of the 2024/2025 season set to resume on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The break follows an exciting Matchday Seven, which saw a record-high 27 goals scored, including three hat-tricks across various centers.
NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi emphasized the importance of the mid-season transfer window, which is now open until March 11, 2025. “This transfer window allows clubs to reinforce their teams and address key areas before the second stanza begins. We expect clubs to make strategic moves that will enhance the competition in the league,” she said.
The current standings show Remo Stars Ladies leading Group A with 19 points, closely followed by title holders Edo Queens with 17 points. Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens are tied at the top of Group B with 17 points each.

The mid-season transfer window provides an opportunity for clubs to strengthen their squads ahead of the second stanza. The top teams will qualify for the NWFL Premiership Super 6 Championship, where they will battle for the league title.
