The Oyo State Government has debunked rumors circulating in the media about the death of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun, confirmed that the revered monarch is alive and well, stating “Yes. Olubadan is alive, hale and hearty. I spoke with one of the sons who represented the family at the coronation committee, Prince Olaseke Owolabi Olakulehin”.
The rumors had emerged on Monday night, but Olatunbosun’s assurance has laid them to rest. The Olubadan is set to celebrate his 90th birthday on July 5.
